As a graduate of the class of 17, Hays had potential but lacked enforcement, had all these rules in place such as the hat rule, colored hair, and other rules, only a few of the staff enforced it. They were sneaky about stuff, says it's a no place for hate campus, as there are about 8 banners that hang in the cafeteria, but kids still get bullied, it's a strict policy to be a no place for hate school, and I know this from being in Student council for about 3 years. It's not easy. Also I know that it is required by the Hays CISD and the Texas education policy, but there too pushy about passing the standardized test. Also some of the teachers were not so flexible about tutoring hours.
Too many wanna be rednecks with fake country accents spitting dip all over the place. Also drugs are a huge problem at this school

Wannabes who can't cut it in Austin. The best academic department is English where there are some fantastic teachers. Science is not bad. Now that they play real teams (6A) just mediocre at best. Softball is good. State championship 2013.
