First time visiting for lunch today. As a disclaimer, let me say that with the plethora of Mexican restaurants in the area, I only give 5-stars if the food and/or service were exceptionally good. I would rate the food as "fair to good", hence the 3 star rating. I was surprised to find that the "lunch special" plates do not come with rice and/or beans. So, if you order the taco/enchilada plate, you literally get a taco and an enchilada - no sides. The dinner plates apparently come with sides. In my opinion the taco (ground beef) and the enchilada (cheese) were both good but not outstanding. No one in our party particularly cared for the chips and salsa, myself included. The chips seemed store bought and maybe not so fresh, and the salsa was somewhat watery. We came in right during the middle of lunch rush and did not have to wait, and that was a plus, as well as the very friendly/attentive wait staff. I plan to try it again for dinner sometime.
Amazing food, we had breakfast and lunch here. Every bite is good! And the service is very friendly and fast. We'll definitely come back if we visit Buda again.
First, let me say that when you walk in the door, it looks very promising, until you have to sign in on a clip board and stand there being ignored. Each time the staff came to check the clipboard, they never greeted the guest. We honestly felt like we were imposing on them. Food was adequate but very bland. My enchilada had American cheese inside of it. I had much better food from other local Mexican restaurants. Service was very slow. There were screaming children everywhere. We waited 15 minutes for the check. I must say, this was the first time we had been there and the last. Not impressed at all. I'm giving this 2 stars instead of 1 because their chips were really good.
The food was great. I think the service could be a little more attentive to the customer. The chicken chalupa and crispy tacos are amazing. You can mess up a taco and not have a good chalupa if your shells are not right. Theirs were perfect! Good job Garcia 's. Just work on the wait staff and I will give 5 stars next time.
This place is amazing! I currently live in NC and come down once a year to visit family. I make it a point to stop by Garcia's for breakfast everytime. The food is fresh and homemade. The service staff is friendly and quick with excellent service. I'd recommend this place to anyone.
